"We feel that we can no longer stand by and watch our youths’ lights wink out one at a time without doing something to help them.  We know in our hearts that when we can change lives, we save lives.   This is why Wiidosem was created in the first place back in 2011and to that end we have dedicated our organization."

James Wilkinson - Founder and Executive Director

Mission Statement:

Our programs are targeted to youth in Northwestern Ontario and Indigenous Youth in the northern communities. Through encouragement, interaction and exploration, our goal is to help youth find their voice, express it in a healthy manner and share their gift of creativity with each other and the community at large. It is important to show them that they matter, to support them and encourage them to chase their dreams. They are our future and our goal is to help make that future the best it can be.

Motto:

Our motto - "Change Lives and Save Lives" - is about giving the Youth we support, the tools to view and deal with things differently so they become empowered through self-discovery and that helps them to build a better life for themselves, effectively it helps them change their own lives. By changing the their own lives they end up effectively saving their own lives.

Mandate:

Wiidosem’s mandate and goal is to design programs, deliver services and organize activities that can change and save lives.

To serve the community in Northwestern Ontario and surrounding Indigenous Communities by being inclusive and open to their needs and cultural requirements. To function as a community organization whose purpose is to help better all communities through the nurturing and training of youth through local programs, outreach programs, workshops, concerts and festivals. We have added Life skills, Trades Skills and Cultural Programs to our offerings for 2021.

Note: Due to the restrictions presented by COVID-19 program delivery has been changed to limited in person instruction and virtual instruction until it is safe to resume normal programming.
